How it works

1

Upload

2

Tell us the basics

Type of business, QuickBooks or Xero, and anything special like "owner transfers are draws".

3

Get your month back

Categorized ledger, P&L, totals per account, an import file, and a short list of items to check. Usually within the hour.

A real example

Sent: one checking CSV (121 rows), one card statement PDF (28 rows) and 5 receipts, PDF and photo. An invented taco truck in Austin, October 2026.

Request: "Square deposits are sales. Owner transfers are draws. QuickBooks Online."

Back in 2 minutes: 149 transactions categorized, sales of $19,408.17 matched to the cent, the ledger total reconciled to both statements, 3 receipts matched to card charges and split by line, the card payment treated as a transfer so nothing is counted twice, and 38 items on the Questions sheet: possible duplicates, Netflix and Peloton as likely personal, the check with no payee, the Zelle deposit, the loan payment.

Invented business and numbers. Bookkeeping prep, not tax or accounting advice.

What it does

  • Reads bank and card statements in CSV, Excel or PDF, and receipts as PDF or photo
  • Categorizes every transaction into standard small-business accounts, with the reason on each line
  • Monthly profit and loss, and totals per category and per account
  • An import CSV for QuickBooks Online or Xero, ready for their bank-upload tools
  • A Questions tab: items it could not categorize, possible duplicates, possible personal spending, and transfers to check
  • Checks that the ledger adds up to the statement totals and tells you if it does not

What it won't do

  • Tax advice, tax filing or sales tax returns: this is bookkeeping prep, not a CPA
  • Payroll, 1099s, or posting into your accounting software for you: you get the file and import it
  • Giving an accountant's sign-off: have your CPA review before you file anything
  • Deciding what is deductible: it flags, you or your accountant decide

Questions

What is an online bookkeeping service?

You send your bank and card statements and get back categorized books for the month: a ledger, a profit and loss statement and a file you can import into QuickBooks or Xero. MyClawn Books does the categorizing with AI and lists everything it is unsure about.

Is this a replacement for a CPA?

No. It is bookkeeping prep. It does not give tax or accounting advice and it does not file anything. Your accountant can use the ledger and the P&L as a clean starting point.

How accurate is the categorizing?

Clear vendors like rent, payroll or a supplier you buy from every week are straightforward. Vague ones like "AMZN Mktp" can be wrong, so they go on the Questions tab with its best guess. Check that tab once and your books are done.

Which files can I send?

CSV or Excel exports from your bank, PDF statements, receipts as PDF or photo, and POS exports. Up to 60 files per upload.

Does it work with QuickBooks and Xero?

You get a CSV in the column layout their bank-statement upload accepts. You import it yourself. We do not connect to your accounts or ask for bank logins.

Is my data safe?

Files are stored on our servers in Germany and handled in an isolated workspace that only reaches our AI processing provider, under terms that exclude training. They are deleted after 30 days. We never ask for bank logins. Please do not upload full account or social security numbers.

What if the result is wrong?

Reply with what to fix; each upload includes two rounds of changes. If it still misses, email us within 14 days and we refund your month.

Can I cancel?

Any time, from your account page. You keep access until the end of the paid month.
